Job Description: As a Technology Technician Intern at the Wellsboro Area School District, I gained valuable hands-on experience in Information Technology by volunteering in the Technology Department. Throughout my internship, I was supervised by one or more members of the Wellsboro Area School District Information Technology Team. I supported various day-to-day activities related to managing and maintaining technology infrastructure in an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities included managing the assignment of computers to incoming freshmen and inventoried teacher stations at two Wellsboro elementary schools. I verified laptop bags for completeness, input computer data into databases, and conducted inventory checks. Additionally, I installed cables from the middle school guidance office to the main line in the basement and added DTA boxes from Blue Ridge Communications at Wellsboro High School. I adjusted signal strength for optimal image quality and installed 11 DTA boxes.
In collaboration with a colleague, I replaced cash registers and manager stations in school cafeterias. I also reimaged manager stations and set up new computers in the auditorium. I assisted in the removal, packing, and transportation of computers from both Wellsboro elementary schools to loading docks for shipping. Furthermore, I repaired damaged computer components and reimaged computers returned by graduating seniors.
